What a success!

Last night the Showcase Live team celebrated their Fifth Anniversary show and Pixie Lott even came down to join the celebrations. Times Red kicked off proceedings with their first gig. They were a great, fusing vocals, beatboxing, keys and guitar.

Elsie shortly followed and blew the room away. Her no-mess attitude rocked the room and know this really is only the beginning for her. Third up was Duke who brought true soul to the room. His current and older influences were obvious.

Felicity Kaya was the fourth act and certainly impressed. Shes already buzzing with label interest and its easy to see why. Jermaine Riley headlined and previewed material of his new album. We can’t wait to hear more.

We’ve had a great five years with some incredible acts – here’s to the next five. It kicks off with our next show on 16th APRIL at Under The Bridge!

Times Red added to lineup

timesred

The newly formed Times Red are a 3 piece ensemble comprising Scott Ritchie (Lead Vocal and Guitar), Staz Nair (Keys & Vocal) and Luke White (Loop pedal, beat-boxer & Vocal). This exciting trio combine live instruments with tight harmonies on stage that bring a sound that has been described as ‘The Script meets Bruno Mars’. It has received great reviews from publishers and A&R’s alike.

Showcase Live: Ones To Watch

ones to watch.png

So January is that time of year where all these “Ones To Watch” lists pop up. Well here at Showcase Live we want to predict our own two successes for the year.

Domino Go

Domino Go a.k.a. Karl and Timz. What’s not to love about this lovable troublesome duo? Breathtaking vocals, incredible songwriting and amazing musicianship. They’ve been working on their debut album with Atlantic Records for the last two years and having heard a sneak peak – we reckon these boys will be ruling the airwaves in 2012.

Lawson

We’ve worked with Lawson a lot over the last year and are predicting big things for them. They signed to Polydor last year and have already supported The Wanted, Will Young and Avril Lavigne on tour. Look out for their debut album coming in 2012.

Last Nights show

Last night saw the final Showcase Live of the year with music industry and celebrities turning out in force for the UKs biggest mainstream music showcase.

Featured artists on the night were young soulstress Raphaella, Sony-signed Murray James, Alex Buchanan, star of Thriller Live, girl band d’Kota Reign and 16-year old Hatty Keane.

Good friend and star of JLS Oritse Williams surprised fans when he jumped on stage to introduce his new girlband Vida for a special, unplanned acapella medley.

Other guests included Dionne Bromfield who came down to support d’Kota Reign at their first ever live show, Twenty Twenty and Parade.

Alex Buchanan added to November lineup

alex1

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Kixx will no longer be appearing at Showcase Live on 21 November. We’re now very pleased to announce that Alex Buchanan joins the lineup. Currently playing the lead in Thriller Live, Alex will be making his Showcase Live debut and previewing some of his own solo material. Originally from Manchester, he has been writing and producing his debut album with names such as Pete Boxsta Martin, Bressie, Pantha, Dantae Johnson and Jermaine Riley.
